We left Newport and headed toward Canon Beach .   We pulled into Nehalem Bay State Park and were told that the First Saturday in June is a free camping day in Oregon State Parks!  We got a very nice site and the price was perfect.  This area has a nice very long sandy beach.  We saw a guy "sand surfing".  This sport uses a large kite and the surfer is pulled along the sand.  We also saw a kite surfer in the ocean.  These guys were really moving with the force of the wind!
