Where I stayed
Trader Village RV Park

We arrived Wednesday evening and stayed through Sunday.  This RV park is part of a giant Flea Market located adjacent to the park.  The market is open on Sat and Sun and thousands of people show up for it.  We walked through part of it on Sat.

40+ years ago I used to come to Houston and I thought it was big back then.  This thing is huge now.  There are now two more loops around the city, and most of the farm land I remember seeing as I drove into Houston is now covered in buildings, pavement, and houses.

Patti lived here 35+ years ago and she found her old house in Stafford.  I was amazed, mostly because everything has changed around the area.  She also found the apartment buliding where she used to live.  It's sourounded by freeways and huge buildings now.

We drove down to Galveston and were amazed at how much it has changed.  The rickety old beach shacks are gone and big fancy beach houses on stilts now line the beach.  We also discovered a very nice old part of Galveston neither of us realized was there.  We had a nice day poking around Galveston.
