We left Big Bend and drove north through Big Bend National Park to Marathon (about 80 miles).  We then drove on east and south to Del Rio Texas.  We thought we might make it to South Padre Island Saturday, but we soon re-discovered that Texas is really BIG!  Saturday night we could not find a RV park, so we stopped at a Holiday Inn in Zapata TX.  Sunday we continued on to South Padre Island.

My brother hated driving across Texas when he worked for the NHRA. I'm sure he would agree that Texas is really big! :)

Texas just don't quit. You only reach its borders once you've given up all hope of ever reaching its end.
