This morning we packed up to head south and west.  About 8 miles out of town the truck suddenly lost power and we were stuck on the side of the road.  At Patti's strong suggestion (thank you Patti) I called Good Sam Emergency Road Service and about an hour later a big tow truck showed up to haul the trailer back to Moose River Campground and the truck to the GMC dealer in St. Johnsbury.  (Good Sam ERS is really worthwhile, don't leave home without it!  They got the tow truck, found the dealer and picked up the bill.  Nice!) Patti stayed at the campground and I went with the truck to the shop.  The mechanic could not find any thing physically wrong with the truck, (as in broke parts etc.) but he did find a GM service letter that said if you have a truck with our problems it needs its Power Control Module reprogrammed.  He reprogrammed the module and the truck was once again OK.  It actually seemed to be peppier than before the problem.  I just hope it continues to work!  I returned to the campground to find Patti doing laundry and cleaning the trailer.  Tomorrow we will try to go south and west.  The Nor Easter is supposed to bring lots of rain and some strong winds.  The leaves are mostly done up here.  They have had lots of heavy rain, cold temps and lots of wind.  Wasn't the best year for Fall Colors in the NE.
