August 27 we arrived at Niagara Falls RV Campground located about 6 miles from the falls. We pulled into the campground in the late afternoon and got unhooked and cooked a steak on the grill for dinner.   Patti cooked squash and onion which came from a farmers market.  Everything was excellent.

August 28 Patti drove us to the falls.  It was Saturday and still in the summer season and the area was hammered with people and cars.  We parked in a lot some distance from the falls. Parking there was $10 for the day.  We then walked to Niagara State Park (location of the falls) and viewed American Falls.  The place was crawling with people.  We decided to walk over the foot bridge to Goat Island and view the falls from there.  It was hot and a fair distance, but was well worth all the effort.  There were fewer people, and the views were really nice.  On Goat Island there is a statue of one of my heros, Nikola Tesla.  (every time you use AC current you should tip your hat to Tesla)  The falls are really impressive and worth seeing.  We packed our passports and had thought about driving over to the Canadian side of the falls, but as we looked across the river to the Canadian side we could see that there were even more folks and cars on that side.  We decided that we had seen enough and headed back to the campground.
