Where I stayed
Andalsnes Camping
WOW!!!!
What a drive!
Took approx 6 hours to get from Oslo to Andalsnes.
The scenery was amazing, snow capped mountains, waterfalls, lakes, rivers in lush green pined forrest.
Arrived and checked into a 6 man cabin with kitchen, bathroom and lounge area, decided to stay for 3 days so that Mark can catch up on the laundry and I can do some cooking.
After a trip into the local town (very small) we were informed that the supermarkets do not open on a Sunday and they will also be closed on Monday as it is a public holiday, oh well.
Got a couple of cans of Tuborg from reception (£9.00 each!!!!!!!!!!!) and had a romantic meal out at the local petrol station, I think I had a Raindeer pastie or something suspicious anyway.
Stayed in tonight and drank our duty free.
BTW this place is so very beautiful, we are on the lake surrounded by snow capped mountains with many waterfalls.
On Tuesday we managed to sleep in until 9am which is a first (usually waking up at 6am)
Went to the grocery store and bought eggs, bacon, mushrooms, tomatoes, bread coffee and beer (£65.00) cooked a lovely breakfast on our 2 ring stove while Mark attended to the laundry.
Glorious day today, sunny and almost warm. We had a long walk in the afternoon up the mountains and then back across the fields. It was lovely and gave us the exercise we needed. Early night tonight as a long drive ahead tomorrow.
