Sept. 13: Sunday

BEAUTIFUL GLORIOUS SUNSHINE !!!!!!.....THANKYOU LORD !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Started out the day with a scrumptuous breakfast provided by The Red Roof Inn. (Did I mention that we "LOVE" free breakfasts?) As we were packing to leave, two Civil War Re-Enactment Participants came up to look at our 'RIG' & talk a spell before moving on to the site of the historic battle.  As we left we decided to go back through Intercourse and then just kept turning left or right at each intersection we approached, whichever direction we "felt the pull" the most. We must have spent at least another 2 hours riding around admiring the AMISH countryside. We were fortunate enough to pass several homesteads where AMISH families were meeting for worship services.

We didn't want to leave the area because of its beauty, but we had to go….the 'road’ was calling, and other places to see were ahead. We turned our travels toward some of Lancaster County’s ‘covered bridges, but couldn’t bring ourselves to leave until we went to PARADISE…..PARADISE, PA that is…one last AMISH Township on our travels. We then located and toured three covered bridges, which we enjoyed driving through and looking at the architecture of each.

Once turning our direction to Gifford Pinchot State Park, camping was finally in our ‘sights’. Arriving at the state park about 6:00, we set up camp,  met several of our ‘camp neighbors’, and were invited to supper by a lovely Mennonite family. We were overwhelmed by their hospitality and enjoyed wonderful fellowship, delicious Mennonite cuisine.(‘mountain pies’…..Yummmmm!!) and made new friends in the process.  They were a blessing as well as a treat to our tired bodies & minds.

Our bellies ‘full as a ticks’, our bodies fatigued from a day of joyous sightseeing & riding we said our goodnights to our new friends and fell into our tent’s bed, where a much needed sleep was just a few blinks away…….."No Worries, it’s all good!”
