The Menger Hotel is where Sean stayed on his conference trip to San Antonio. He wanted to take me over to see it as it has lots of history. The Menger Hotel was constructed in 1859 under the direction of owner William A. Menger. The Menger is now considered a National Landmark. The furnishings and appointments are considered museum quality.

The Menger has accomodated the rich and the famous in its day including: Sean Ross, Theodore Roosevelt , O Henry, Babe Ruth, Mae West, Robert E. Lee, Ulysses S. Grant, and Sarah Bernhardt.

We enjoyed their buffet breakfast on Saturday morning, an excellent value at only $10 a person.
