Hi everyone,

I am guessing your thinking I went out of the town but anything could be further from the truth. I have been at Telf English Academy for over a week now. I spent the first 5 days in a hotel and on Saturday evening I moved into a apartment. There was another foreign teacher already there but he was leaving with his brother the next morning. The apartment is quite big with the main door going into a dinning area with bathroom and kitchen attached to the right side while on the left was the master bedroom. On the left side there is a small sitting room which then leads into a smaller room and the balcony where you can hang out washing.

I spent my first night in the apartment in the small room as the another foreign teacher was occupying the large room with his brother who had just arrived to visit. On Sunday which was my day off I moved into the larger room and spent most of my day getting to know my apartment.  On Monday I was told that I needed to register with the police where I was staying because I was renting. Elsa one of my co-workers took me to get my photo taken and to the police station to get registered - It was very quick because I had Elsa with me. I spent that afternoon at the school surfing the internet and updating my blog.

That evening another co-worker of mine who lives in ShaoXing which is about 30 minutes away from Keqiao took me to see the night markets. I decided to join her at the qym before we headed out to the night market - the gym was very hot but it was fun. and I was familiar with most of the equipment.

The night market in ShaoXing was very colourful and there was a lot of people out and about on a Monday evening. The stores sold mainly clothes, shoes and accessories; the night market in ShaoXing opens from 5pm till 10pm at night. At 9.30pm after a hour or so of walking up and down the street we decided to can it the night. I caught a taxi back it took 30mins to get back costing $33, my taxi driver was very helpful, friendly and talkative.

I went to bed about midnight and woke back up a couple of hours later due being bitten by insects. I had a really good sleep and woke up at about 6.30am, looking for my cellphone and realized it wasn't where I put it. I looked over to where the T.V was and underneath it my laptop was gone! It was then that I realised I had been robbed, so I checked to see if anything else was taken - I guess the silver lining in all of this is that my important documents and money weren't taken. At 8am I left the apartment and headed over to Telf to get some help - Elsa and Amy spent the morning with me, we called the police and they checked to see if  they could get any finger prints, took a formal statement and gave me some tips to keep safe. So now I am less a cell phone and a laptop : (
