As I write this we're 11 days from departure - Sunday morning the 21st. I have removed the rear passenger seat of the Roadtrek to give us more room, and wrenched my back unbolting the seat belts, thank you very much. Found a slab of gray carpet rolled up in the garage that perfectly fits the RV's main cabin. Now I've laid down a tarpaulin in the garage that duplicates the storage footprint of the RV, and have staged the various bins and bags that will go in the far back on the tarpaulin to get a good sense of what will actually fit back there.  Meanwhile, Doris is making a nylon duffel bag for me; it'll fit in the upper storage compartment above the "bedroom." She talked me out of buying a bag.  I know I'm taking too much electronics gear - still and video cameras, two ipods, the Garmin (already programmed with the handful of campgrounds where I've made online reservations), handy talkies, and a portable weather radio. The folding Dahon bike, pump, shoes, helmet and the rest of the bike gear also will take up a fair amount of room. Then there's the clothing and the dogs' stuff. Anyway, we'll pack the RV ahead of time to make sure we can stow it all. Turns out we can have our mail held even though we'll be gone more than the limit of 30 days. So says our Rarity Bay mail carrier, Jenny. She sure works hard for her end of the year gratuities!
