Hello!
A very boring entry from us on our way back from Iquique (yes, we finally got out!)
we decided to stop in a town called La Serena which is about 5 hours north of Santiago.
It was described by Lonely Planet as a trendy beach town (note to self, just give up listening to Lonely Planet!!)
The town is really nice and cute, much cleaner than Iquique and the people are nicer. We are staying at a place called Hostel Punto (I think) which is run by a really nice German couple. The Hostel is really nice and clean and painted heaps of pretty colours and quite well priced. Its also nice to actually see other tourists after being stuck in Iquique for 3 days(or was it 4? I seem to have blocked the trauma out of my mind!!)
This afternoon we ate lunch, which was our first meal in about 23 hours (I got sick AGAIN yesterday!) and then dinner (about 3 hours later) and then pancakes(YUM)! So we´re both feeling a little full but very satisfied!
After lunch, we put our bikinis on and headed down to the ¨white sandy beaches¨ (as lonely planet puts it!!) which were actually grey and covered in shells and smelt funny! there was also a big sign saying no swimming, which, to be honest, wasn´t a real temptation as the smell suggested we might find some floating dead wildlife while wading through the water! So we walked straight back to our hotel via the bus station and booked a ticket back to Santiago for tomorrow morning!!
Anyway, better be off! Hope you are all well!
(By the way, its Tennille writing, so all the I´s refer to me!)
