Middle Prong Trail was a 4.4 mile hike on a wide and level old logging/fire road which paralleled a rollicking mountain stream with several tremendous cascades that some might call mini-waterfalls. It was a relaxing stroll up to the turnaround point at Panther Creek Trail. The sound of rushing and falling water was with us most of the way. One interesting thing to see was the places where the stream had scoured holes into the bedrock. Some of these holes were almost perfectly round.
If you love rushing cascading water and lots of small waterfalls, this trail is an hidden gem.
