Germany wept at my departure. (i.e. it was typical rainy German weather...)
We got up and Mr. Money drove us to the airport and we chilled in the Admiral's club and ate some breakfast before my boarding time. I told them goodbye and headed to my gate.

Security was... ugh. I hate that tight feeling in my gut when I'm dreading them finding something I'm not supposed to have in my suitcase or carry-on, or being pulled out or them taking too long and I miss my flight... Ugh. They actually did put my bag through twice after taking most of my stuff out... I never figured out why. By the time I got on the plane... I was ready to tune out the world.

So, I put in my headphones and watched all the interesting movies on the in-flight entertainment (which worked this go-round, thank goodness.) I'm not sure I could have endured a day-time flight without something to do.

After many, many, too many hours on a plane, we touched down in Charlotte and I got to turn on my phone for the first time in 3 weeks (talk about strange! my fingers weren't used to texting!). My plane had gotten in an hour early. If it hadn't, I'd never have caught my flight home because the line for customs was LOOOONG. I was literally shaking by the time my turn came around to hand them my passport and answer the list of questions... But, a smile works wonders. And so does the southern "yes, ma'am" and "no, sir." Don't ever forget that. The lady even smiled back at me eventually...

I made my flight to Greenville and was welcomed by another lovely storm like the one I just left in Germany (and Sam and my mom, too!). We went out for dinner and I had an American meal... Meat and three! and SWEET TEA! Whew... I missed sweet tea!

So, now I'm home. Though, after the past 3 weeks, Germany was beginning to feel like home. I miss the lack of humidity. It's so sticky here in the South. Oh, well.

If you've been following my blog all along, thank you!

If you have questions about somewhere I went or something I saw, just comment on that day's blog and I'll get back to you!
