This morning I got up early to grab a train to take a day trip. Since the internet was down, we didn't know when or where the trains were going, so we waited to decide until we got to the station. We barely missed the train to Heidelberg, so we decided to go to Saarbrucken to shop. (It's right on the border of France!)

We went in all sorts of stores. The clothing styles are SO different! But, sales are the same! Sarah and I know where to find them. What was really weird to me was the age of the women shopping in the same stores as the teenagers and wearing the same styles. Also, everyone here wears a lot of black year-round. Another strange thing... People take their dogs with them even shopping! It was a little strange. And some of the dogs were rather large. Kind of intimidating! But cool nonetheless.

I had my first bratwurst for lunch and later we got coconut ice cream, which was amazing! I actually spent some money on myself today instead of on everyone else, which is what I usually do on trips. I bought myself some neat jewelry and Sarah found some awesome shoes!

When we finally came back home, it started pouring, which apparently is the normal weather in Germany. Everyone says Sarah and I brought the nice weather with us. Too bad it didn't last!
