Where I stayed
We got out of Tok but got rained on last night so had to put up a wet camp." I dont like that". Only about 200+ miles to Fairbanks the road is still chip and seal there was several miles the DOT had just ground up to a gravel road and was repaving so we had several construction delays but i asume that is always going on with the peremafrost and such.
We did stop at North Pole Alaska and got some pictures and mailed postcards but didn't take time to stop by Santa's house and see the reaindeer "for real" There was some big clouds comming up so we took off in a hurry for Fairbanks the Streets was flooded when we got there up over the bikes floorboards but if you keep moving the front tire will keep the water pushed back.
Motels was full on the highway but found a real nice hotel downtown with the GPS, We are staying two nights, We are planning to ride to artic circle and Coldfoot and back tomorrow 250 miles each way but there is 20 hours of sunlight about 1/2 gravel road.
rain is in the forcast for the next 5 days in Fairbanks but if you are a biker who cares. The temp is a nice 60 to 70 degrees F and the rains dont last to long they had hail yesterday which they said was very abnormal. I guess we are bringing Missouri weather with us "Never under estamate and old biker"
Really God has been very good to us and protected us no dropped bikes or road rash and I want to give him all the credit for this wonderful trip.
Connie and I have been wonderfully Blessed.

Comments
I'm proud of you Stanie...I liked the comment you made, "Rain forecasted, but if you're a biker who cares?" I can see this trip has matured you as a Wild Hog....Enjoy yourselves and God bless you and yourn...
Dad's address while he was there wasa 1006 Clear Street, North Pole, which is between Fairbanks & North Pole. I have been to Santa's House, Connie would probably like it. Hope you all are having a great time! If you are staying around Fairbanks for any amout of time we can get in touch with some of the locals, for local attractions, just let me know. God Bless you all and continue to enjoy the country!
From one old biker to another, I envy your trip and thank you for sharing your experience. I always longed to take an extended motorcycle trip, but it never happened. Our one memorable family trip was by canoe in the boundry water area between Minnesota and Canada and fighting with a bear over our food supply. You know, that bear is still growing and gets bigger everytime I recall the experience.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DAD
