Himonterey Hostel
After how much I enjoyed biking around SD, I decided to rent a bike for a few days in Carmel/Monterey to get more connected with the surroundings.. I'm thinking if I do this more permanently I might just buy a bike and somehow mount it on the back of my car.
So I biked the famous 17-mile drive from Monterey to Carmel.. most people drive it (which costs $10)... but it's a pretty easy path.. and is SO much better on bike (I did it in a car a day later for another reason as you'll see in the next post).. you smell the ocean and the wildflowers and hear the sea lions barking and seagulls making that sound they make. You pass 25 million dollar mansions, secluded Cypress groves, and an exclusive golf club (Cypress Point) that celebrities can't even get on.. as well as the famed Pebble Beach.
I then set up shop in a quaint, hidden, little coffee shop in Carmel-by-the-Sea.. that town is chalk-full of insanely charming boutique shops and art galleries.
