Took the scariest 10 minute motorbike ride of our lives from Lao Cai (Vietnam) to the border. Normally on the motorbike/scooter taxis the drivers position your big pack infront of them, however this time we had to leave them on our back. Everytime they accelerated or went up hill we had to recruit every muscle in our body to stay on. And after that they had the nerve to demand double the price we'd agreed to (only 50 cents) but we stood our ground or, rather, walked over the border.

Spent most of the bus ride (12 hours) having an amusing conversation with some Chinese guys who spoke no english. You can picture us phrase book in hand, trying to point out words as we flew up into the air hitting bumps in the road.
