The train was a nice ride, the scenery was so beautiful lush and green with a flowing river we followed along the way. This was a really cool little town, much warmer than Cusco! It was surrounded by jungle and mountains, we came at a time there was a big festival happening, we saw some pretty cool performances and costumes. You will see in the photos the funny kind of masks they had on, one group we came across performing all had these masks on and took it in turns having duels to whip each others legs! And I don't mean lightly whip, they really got stuck into each other hey! It was pretty crazy to see, young and old were doing it, must be some traditional thing. And other times a whole crowd of locals in costumes and a band would be running around the streets having fun, I got dragged into one and danced and followed along for a while, that was fun! We only had a couple days here and enjoyed the town very much, it was only really tiny though and lots of uphill walking. Oh there are also some hot springs to go to but we didn’t make it there, I think they’re pretty crowded most of the time.
