Well we have been in Bali now for nearly 2 weeks, and it is hot! We started in a place called Sanur, which was very quiet, we thought that we had just come out of season, but the more you talk to the locals the more you realise how much tourism has been affected by the bombings. We also found out that the anniversary of both bombings is in October, another reason why it is so quiet! The locals are all so desperate for trade that you get hassled alot, you can't walk out of your hotel room without someone asking you if you want transport or a massage and everyone is giving you a 'special price'!
Anyway, we spent the first week on the beach sunbathing, not doing a right lot really! Claire's tan was coming on a treat while Daniel was still on the factor 40! One day he decided enough was enough and took the plunge to factor 25, he came to regret this and spent that night nursing his slightly burnt body! Needles to say that he has been under the brolley ever since!
So after a week of catching some rays and of Henry, the local 'unofficial tour guide' hassling Daniel to take a tour with him, we decided to take him up on his offer to show us the 'Best Sights in Bali'. We didn't really confirm a definite itinerary before setting off, and this proved to be a mistake. We set off around 9.30am and after travelling in Henry's van for about half an hour we came to our first stop.....the beach, we were a little confused at this point as we had just spent the past week at the beach. When we got out of the van we were greeted by Henry's friends who wanted us to do some over priced water sports (anyone who knows Claire knows that this is not her idea of a good time and is the last person to do any kind of water sports!), at this point we thought that we had made a huge mistake and we were going to be on a sales pitch all day with Henry's friends, Claire felt that words needed to be exchanged! Once Claire and Henry had an understanding, we set off once again, this time Henry was taking us to places of interest! The day turned out to be better than we had first thought and we did actually see some beautiful sights, we headed West to a temple that was in the sea, stopping off if we saw anything of interest such as the Paddie Fields.
We decided to move on from Sanur and headed to Seminyak which is about 4km from Kuta, it seems a bit more lively here. We only got here yesterday so we haven't seen too much yet but we will keep you informed of what we do as we still have another week here in Bali. Anyway we have to go now as its lunch time and this is the best part of the day to catch a tan!
Love to you all and we will be intouch soon.

Oi, this is a family show....less of the language!!!! We laugh every night in Perth, you should see rush hour over here, they would have a panic attack if they had to fight their way across Leeds train station at 5pm!
