The next day we went tso the Athena's airport to catch our flight to Paros island. As we approached the departure counter there were several Greeks yelling at the person in charge of plane departure. I found out that the plane flight to the islands was canceled. Standing next to me was a very attractive Greek teacher that told us not to worry that she would take care of us. She taught pre school on the island. We went upstairs to receive our refund and met several other stranded passengers, a blind man who was also from Paros, a single women from Canada and a family whose sons live in Texas but the parents live in Libya (the parents native country was Peru).
This wonderful lady booked our tickets on the ferry that left for the island at 7 and also called our hotel to tell them we were delayed. Found out that both the single women and the family were staying at the same timeshare that we had booked. We all shared a van and split the fare. Arrived at the port just in time to get a little lunch. We then embarked on our four hour trip to the island. Arrived at midnight and rented our cars to take us to the timeshare. The teacher insisted that she guide us to our destination fearing that we might get lost. She phoned the hotel and told them that we were on our way. As we drove up to the timeshare the manager was waiting out front to greet us. We all had a late night dinner of Greek lasagna and stuffed tomatoes. at 1:30 in the morning, we bid our new found friend goodbye, she had to teach the next day.
