We took a nap and later that evening strolled down the main drag. This street had several vendors and street entertainers. Very interesting and quite enjoyable. We had a wonderful Greek dinner and listened to traditional Greek musicians.
The arrival in Athens was uneventful. After collecting our luggage we boarded the train to the city. We meet some students in route and told them about our hotel reservations near the main harbor. They recommended that accommodations near the main square would be better. More things to do. So we took their advice and luggage in tow headed for the Square. After dragging all of our bags several blocks we decided that David should stay with the luggage while I look for a room. While I was gone, a bus load of police unloaded directly in front of David. Newsmen from all over the world appeared and started filming. The police lined up in front of a gigantic Christmas tree. I returned just as people started yelling and throwing things at the police. David and I collected our bags and literally ran to our hotel.
