Alexandra is too tired again tonight, so I'm doing blog duty.

The big news today is that we completed the hunt for the big 5 (lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo and rhino). We had seen everything except the rhino, until today...

This morning started out the same-up at 6, coffee at 6:15, watch the monkeys try to get the muffins (only got one this morning), and out for the game drive at 6:30am. It started out really slow this morning, and not too cold. We looked everywhere for a rhino and none could be found, then we heard another group found one, so we headed over to see it. On the way we encountered a leopard who posed for some great photos. Then found the rhino (a favorite of mine-you can guess why), and got some great photos. On the way back to camp, saw giraffes and zebras.
After lunch at our cabin, I opened the back door to sit outside and there was a herd of 8 elephants right in our back yard! Later, I took a shower in the outside shower--just to say I did it--it was neat. Next game drive was at 3pm and we were lucky enough to find a leopard cub! We also sat in the middle of a herd of buffalo. It is unbelievable how close we get to the animals, just a few yards away from some really big and/or dangerous animals, who don't really care that we are sitting there snapping photos of them.
Dinner tonight was outside in the game park, about 2 miles from camp. The staff surprised us with the set up with big bonfires and lanterns for heat and light. They cooked all the food outside on wood fires. The sky was so clear, we could see the southern cross and the Milky Way galaxy.
Tomorrow will be our last full day of safari-we will be leaving Saturday. I really hate to see thie magical trip come to an end!
We are really enjoying sharing all our experiences with you and are having fun reading all your comments.

This has been a really fun and awesome experience--one you will certainly never forget, nor we. Enjoy every last moment and come home safely. We agree that your photos and your blog would make a great travel log. You should make your 2011 calendar from your animal photos. Picking out only 12 will be tough! Love you--Titsa, Manny & DeDe
