Day 10, TTEE 2008.  Lake Lucerne - Paris (2)

Another very early morning leaving Stans at 7.30am.  I am still not too sure about this whole having to leave Switzerland, but I guess I have too, at least now I know where I want to come back too.
We have just had our 2nd toilet stop and boy what a toilet, if you can call it that, it was more like a urinal for women..  It is now about 12.30pm and we have an hour and half before we will be stopping for lunch, so I am thinking we will all be very hungry.  But it is a long day of driving today.
It is raining here in France as we drive through the wine regions, mmm wine...  I hope it is not raining when we get to Paris as I am doing the Eiffel Tower and Illuminations excursion tonight and that would suck in the rain.
Well the sun is out and I am enjoying the French countryside.  I spoke French at our last stop, which was scary but good, hehehe.  Mind you it was just to ask if they spoke English...  Now we are on our way to Paris and the hotel.  I hope there are computers there so I can start to enter these entries.  I am glad that I have been writing as I go because there is no way I would haven't remembered half the things that I have done since the start of tour.  I feel as though my mind is so full of historical information, mumbo jumbo and that is just from today, hahaha.  I really don't know where Gerry gets all this information from, I men does he just pull it out of his head or does he have it written somewhere and he studies it the night before?
The contrast between Italy and France is so obvious, Italy was lovely up north, but around Roma it was awful, dirty and dry.  France is green (so far), both countries have plenty of grapes and vineyards obviously, but they also have fields upon fields of corn and sunflowers.  The sunflowers that are in bloom and facing the sun are amazing.  You see green after green fields and then suddenly a field of yellow will go past, it is so pretty.
So tonight's accommodation is at the Novotel Paris Est and it is very very nice, at least my room is. Somehow I got a room on the 10th floor, but no view unfortunately, but a great room.  Just waiting for my luggage to arrive so that I can change for my night out.
I just got back from the excursion and how good was it.  The Eiffel Tower was amazing and we were there at sunset too, so even more beautiful.  It was raining though, but not enough to spoil it for me.  I even walked down from the second floor which is about 1000 steps.  Even had a lovely photo taken with Gerry (mmmm).  After the tower we did a driving tour through Paris, even driving past the Ritz, which is where Princess Diana ate the night she died.  Unfortunately I didn't get many photos tonight because it was night, raining, and the bus was moving and blurring everything.
So I am off to bed now, in my nice big queen size bed, ready for my 3 excursions tomorrow.
You know you love me
