Day 4, TTEE 2008.  Innsbruck (Igls) - Venice (Marghera)

Back on the bus and off we head to Italy.  I thought this place was beautiful yesterday.  This morning is even better.  With low cloud it is absolutely gorgeous.  So romantic.  Goodbye Austria.
The scenery here is Northern Italy reminds me of the movie A Walk in the Clouds, with Keanu Reeves, but Italy is so the Godfather...  Hehe...  The sun is just coming up through and over the mountains and I am reminded of the glory of God on such a beautiful morning.  The wonders of a world a never knew, that has taken me until now to experience.  And what an experience is has been so far and what I am sure it will continue to be.
I have my ipod on shuffle and I am sitting here on the bus listening to Bon Jovi sing "Welcome to where ever you are, this is your life, you've made it this far.  Welcome, you've got to believe, you're right here right now, exactly where you're supposed to be."  This is so true.  After everything I have been through in my entire life and also in the last 18 months, I am right where I should be to be able to move forward.  On the bus I am sitting by myself, so I get to be alone.  Off the bus I think I have spoken to everyone on this tour.  I remember Mum telling me about their tour and the young women that were there and how they made it fun.  I guess without even meaning to or trying too I have become that person on this tour.  I want to have a great time and for me to do that, I want others to enjoy themselves also.
So many grapes, vineyards, wineries.
Here we are about to arrive in Venice.  How cools is it this, I am in Italy and going to Venice and then also on a gondola tonight!!!
Wow what an amazing day.  We caught a ferry across to the main island of Venice, with the super cute drivers...  Upon arrival we went straight to our restaurant for lunch, which was part of an optional excursion that I had elected to do.  This included bread, lasagna (seafood for everyone else), salad, veal with tomatoes and 3 bottles of white wine for me.  It seems that everyone else here who didn't want their wine gave it to me to drink.  Have I also mentioned how hot it is here today.
After lunch we had a lovely Venetian guide (Anna) who walked us around the island / lagoon giving us the history of Venice.  We made our way to St. Marks Basilica.  What a lovely church this was.  No photos inside though.  Now we head to see a glass blowing job being done, which was very interesting. Free time for 90 minutes followed this and I just walked around yet again on my own walking through the alleys just taking everything in.  Now it comes time for our gondola ride.  What an amazing experience this was.  Although some of the buildings were closed and rotten but still great all the same.
I have had such a wonderful day.  I still find it hard to believe that I spent the day here in Venice.  This is so awesome.  The hotel is so so, but I will sleep that is for sure.
You know you love me
