So I arrived in the city in the morning and we started out our vacation almost immediately. Karla got some comp. tickets to the New York Ballet, so I got a chance to see that at the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts. I'm not much of a ballet fan but anything in New York will be quality, Like gourmet food, even if you don't like it, its still good. After dinner we hopped the subway out to Shea Stadium to watch the Mets play the Oreoles. I also got to experience Mets fans distaste for Yankee fans. It ALMOST parallels my hate for the Washington Huskies. To cap off the night we met some of Karla's co-workers at a nightclub downtown. a very long eventful day for me. The next day we went to Coney Island which was something I always had wanted to do. If you've never been, check the pictures. Now I know why people from the east coast are surprised when they see our west coast beaches. Even Newport or Lincoln city on a busy day would seem like a private beach to a Coney island resident. Monday we had tickets to see a filming of the Late Show with David Letterman, I have always wanted to see Dave live and the tickets are very sought after, Karla and I were very lucky to get in. Adam Sandler and Julie Chan were the guests. I was very happy to see Paul Shaffer and the CBS Orchestra too even though Will Lee, the regular bass player, wasn't there that day. I even got to go inside the Hello Deli next door and have my picture taken with Rupert Jee. I've been to this city four different times now and I still haven't run out of things I want to do, that's pretty good for me. Monday was my last full day in the states before heading to Mexico so I took the opportunity to stock up on things I'll need. (water, immonium AD, doritos, the essentials....) tomorrow is going to be a crazy day filled with culture shock and language barriers.
