Now that I am back home safe and sound and I reflect on what an amazing life experience I've just had, I recall all the many wonderful stories that stay with me. I also embrace the many messages, letters and emails of gratitude from the participants, volunteers, parents or just citizens of the countries I've visited. Probably one of the most dearest letters I have received came just days after returning home. I would like to share some of the comments I have recieved. I would also like to take this time to thank all of my followers who have read my blogs during my journey across the globe, Thanks!

"hey just wanted to say I've been working with the kids since you left and they miss you. Everyday when I'm up there either in the mornings or in the afternoons I always come across hearing someone saying "Coach Tome" and just talking about how much they appreciated what you did for them and wish you would have stayed with them here. The basketballs you left them -they treat them like gold always making sure every single one is inside the net by the end of the day, and they always practice and use the drills you taught them. These kids look up to you! This morning when i was coming home I heard one say "I want to be just like Coach Tome when I grow up..not because he is a good basketball player, but because he is nice and a good friend. He taught me so much and I want to show him that I have learned all thanks to him and I hope when I'm older I can become a coach and teach little kids too". That made my day and this is why I'm writing to you now. I only see that its all the time and effort that you have put and not only it was only due to your patience, persistance and you never giving up on them that these kids that they have become dedicated to basketball , have showed sportsmanship, fairplay and many values that they will need throughout life... as I look at your pictures of your basketball camps in Brazil and Senegal  I can't tell what goes on but just hearing these kids out here talking about you I know that you have accomplished your goal and you have succeeded with making a difference. Good job Tome, hope you continue doing what you have done. Whenever you get a chance visit these kids." -Gabriella (volunteer)

"I'm waiting for you next year, to earn more and learn about Basketball, love basketball" -Lawro (camper)

"Tome you are a good example because you combined education and basketball and everything went well for you so that's why I would like to do the same and be a great basketball player and also a great student" -camper interview (courtesy of TCV)
