Rhino Walk – Other Residents of the Park

Walking, we only saw the rhino although there was evidence of many of the other animals that live in the park. We drove back to town through the park along the river, where there were many more animals, including all those pictured here, crocodiles, Cape Buffalo, and several kinds of antelope. (No lions or other predators – the park is too small to support any, and it's too close to town to be safe.)
They try to keep the rhinos away from the river mostly because in the past they have fallen in and drowned – bad swimmers, with a heavy, downward pointing head. All the other animals go there, though, especially on a day as hot as the day we visited.
