Basically, Urfa is the closest thing to still being Ottoman that we will find in Turkey. The people live in another time just like (but waaaay older than) on calle 8. In olden times, this city was called Edessa, and it has an ancient quarter where Abraham was supposedly born, AND where Nimrod built a pire with which to burn him...until God turned the fire into a pool of fish: sacred carp which remain until this day....
