Cruise Galapagos? It wasn't the plan.. But don't mind if we do!! From boobies with blue feet to giant tortoises doing the dirty (yes there are pictures!) Galapagos was shore not to disappoint! We spent five days cruising between islands upon Catamaran Valkiria exploring and experiencing all the glorious islands had to offer.. Poor Phoebe got a little bit extra with a visit from our guide in the middle of the night.. Phoebe man magnet strikes again.. And he had the nerve to ask for a tip at the end of the trip!

Tip: Don't enter guests rooms unless invited!

Easing in with a bit of snorkelling off Isla Isabela.. We jumped into the water and all our first thoughts were of disappointment.. That was until a family of sea lions came out to play!! What an amazing experience!! We all giggled like little school girls trying not to drown as they swam right into our faces before twisting and turning away in a flurry of bubbles.. Awesome start!!

So I mentioned giant tortoises doing the dirty.. Well that was what greeted us on Isla Florean.. Strange noises and stupid males who don't know whether they are mounting the front or the back.. It is possible to catch them trying to penetrate the wrong end of the poor female tortoise!

Santa cruz was a lovely surprise where we were given the opportunity to do some kayaking in the beautiful glassy waters of Tortuga bay.. With sea iguanas basking in the sun, turtles poking their heads slowly out of the water, eagle rays flying out of the sea rightin front of our kayak, and an array of local Galapagos birds we found it difficult to decide which way to look!

It's quite funny to think that in Australia we run away from sharks.. In Galapagos we looked for them and chased them when we found them.. Finding white tips resting in caves and the beautiful Galapagos black tips floating by uninterested, the one we really came to see was the Hammerhead! With everyone telling us Gordon's rock we headed there for a dive.. Luck was not on our side that day and we walked back to the hotel a little disappointed!! A beautiful dive regardless we had one day left so Solomon and I decide to try our luck again with another dive at Gordon's rocks.. My goodness!! Swimming in a school of hammer heads.. AMAZING!! Such strange but handsome looking creatures!!

Galapagos you did NOT disappoint!!
