Mom and Dad have arrived! Shockingly, they were 3 hours late, but their plane left late, baggage took forever and then they had to pick up the car, but impressively, they did not get lost. They had my Garmin, but an impressive feat nonetheless – especially since they didn't have sound. My mom like many great moms is the least computer literate of the family, yet is the only one who knew how to set the VCR. Needless to say, she was worried she would screw up the settings if she tried to fix the volume. When they got there we were hungry, me since I had check out at 10 and thus ate around 9 and mom and dad because, you know, they just got to Italy. We started driving around looking for a place to eat. Mom wanted a nice good Italian meal, Dad and I didn't care….but all we found was pizza anyway, and then off we went in our stick shift car. Oh yes, stick shift. Dad was driving even though Mom had more experience, but that's neither here nor there.

We had a fun and easy drive to Moltepulciano until we got to Moltepulciano. It was either our car or my father, but one of them did not like the hills. When we got to where our hotel was, there was smoke coming out from under the hood. Everyone kept looking at us, some in pity, and others with a look of stench, because our car certainly made one. Anyway, it turns out that wasn’t our hotel and we had to keep going up up up over the mountain. We were also very lost at this point. Luckily one of those good natured Italian folks drove us to our hotel…him in his car and us following. He was listening to the radio, we were praying our car would make it.

The hotel was beautiful and is where some of the cast of Twilight New Moon (Bella and Edward) stayed. But most importantly, we went to a restaurant where we had pasta in a boar sauce. Yes, I said boar. And it was everything you would want a boar sauce to be. It was without a doubt a great night. I'm a lucky girl to get to experience Italy with parents. If only my brother Anthony was there, sigh. (Anthony - feel guilty yet?)
