Coming back to Buenos Aires after a month it almost felt like comming back home... except there was no friends, familiy and dog to greet us :-( But we felt as comfortable as ever.
At this moment it is probably the time to make some points about Argentina s a whole... so, here it goes:
- come with cash, don't come with a Visa card! You won't get stealed on the street in Argentina, but the bank will steal a kot of money through fees for cash withdrawals, as they let the foreigners with a Visa withdraw only 320 pesos (100 USD) at once :-(
- the Argentinian nature is gorgeous! But it seems that the argentinians don't like to share it with the rest of the world - they always charge three times higher fees for park entrances to the foreigners :-(
- The famous joke about the easiest way for an argentinian to commit suicide is to jump off his ego is very true! Although you may find a lot of nice, warm people, most of them are still quite arrogant.
- Argentina is not cheap anymore. Don't come here thinking you can eat a great stake for 4USD - make that 15 now...
Although, this may sound harsh, our experience in Argentina was great! But I guess for the beauty of the country itself...
Anyway, enjoying our last few days of travelling we took it reeaally easy: we walked around the city, sunbathed on the rooftop of the hostel and did some last-minute shopping. Oh, yes, and we bothered to go see the Palermo hipodrom. And we were not disapointed! It is a big, modern hipodrom with beautiful horses! We had the luck to see some horse races (although not my preffered way of enjoying with the horses)...
For the fairwell we lavished ourselves with a gorgeous dinner in La Cabrerra - a great parilla (really great!) and, of course, a crazy night out... When you finish, you gotta finish with style ;-)
