Very lazy day today - out on the deck enjoying the warmth and reading up on Greece and Turkey (Tina) or tracking the NZ$ meltdown (Chris) and trying to figure out how much more money the next 3 months are going to cost us! (Donations welcome....)

Around 2pm decided that we did need at least a minor amount of exercise, so went fro a walk around Diana's subdivision. Her condo is in a gated subdivision along with around 210 other units, so pretty big complex, all in and amongst lovely trees and shrubs and alongside an inlet from Vineyard Sound (the sea on the eastern side of Cape Cod. The complex management maintains a walking path in and around the subdivision, through all the trees - around 1 mile. There is also a swimming pool, tennis courts and a community centre for the residents. So after our walk around the subdivision, Diana and I went for a much needed swim - it was a very muggy day.

For our evening entertainment, Diana had booked us on a Caribbean theme dinner cruise from Falmouth down to Woods Hole - another small Cape Cod settlement with a world renown marine research centre, and back. We were getting a bit concerned towards boarding time - the wind had come up and it was looking like the trip might be cancelled, or at least would be very rough. However, we went down to the Falmouth marina and the trip was still going, so on we got. It was lovely - the sea hardly had a white cap; the mist came down just enough to make it atmospheric, not enough to obscure our view; the service and food was great; and the tour was excellent. And the guy playing the steel drum was very good. We had a lot of fun. It was especially interesting being taken around some of the small private islands here and seeing the summer lifestyles of the extremely rich! And the little house shacks (they're too small to be house boats) in the Woods Hole harbour. But the best bit was being out in a boat in the light sea fog.....
