Well the trip has begun and it sure has been an interesting start and I am only in KL.
I have realised that flying by yourself is really no fun and it really isn't fun when the kids in the row next to you think shaking an eclipse mints container for two hours is a hoot. I so wanted him to eat them all and then the laxative effect might have begun. Luckily I had a spare seat next to me so was able to spread out a little and watch a movie or two. On arrival at KL I was greeted with 32 degree temps and about 90% humidity. Lets just say my jeans were not the best idea. Immigration was interesting and if you think the lines are bad at home you need to think again. After waiting in a line for a bit I was directed to the transit counter line. After standing there for about half an hour i finally get to the front to be told I was in the wrong place of course. Looking over my shoulder the hall was now full in the line I was supposed to rejoin. I of course smiled sweetly, pleaded my case and they decided it was just easier to stamp my passport and then I was escorted quickly through the passport control. Bags found and out to get the bus into the city. The trip was pretty good although there were a few times I thought the bags would fly out on to the road after a corner or two was taken rather quickly and not to mention the airborne moments on the dips. At least the GPS the driver had on got us to where we had to go. A quick 10 minute walk to my hotel, which interestingly doesn't have any windows.
Am staying in the brickfields known to be a little dodgy but you know me I can't resist exploring. so headed out for dinner(a delicious indian meal for $4 of nann and chicken Tandoor)  and managed to avoid the bag snatchers and pickpockets.  A good nights sleep and I should be all ready for the leg to London. Just hope I wake up in time, the no window thing is weird.
