Maija:
It was time to leave New Orleans and head to Texas. We drove through the famous Louisiana wetlands, didn't meet any alligators, though. Onni and Toni managed to spot some turtles, snakes, and some furry creature but unfortunately almost all of them were dead, lying next to the road. One quite funny sight was "piles of cows" (yes, they were on top of each others, apparently trying to avoid the heath...?). It was REALLY hot day, and still is. We also took a break on the beach and even the sea water felt warm.
One of the low points of the day was Beaumont, TX. It just seemed to be an industrial city; grey, depressing... Well, we didn’t see the whole city so maybe the place has some better sides as well... After that we decided to find a place to sleep and drive to Houston in the morning. We ended up in a motel called Deluxe Inn (guess how deluxe it is). Well, maybe the spiders and other nice creatures are not so dangerous. On the other hand, we’re in Texas now...
