We arrived 200 miles northwest of the city of Winnepeg Tuesday to Riding Mountain National Park. The drive up was beautiful - bright blue sunny skies.
About 30 miles south of the park entrance, we began to see a huge thunderstorm ahead and could only hope we would beat it to the park.....While we were checking into the park the storm began; by the time we got to our campsites it was in its full fury ! After it blew through, we got out of the motorhomes to find big pellet sized hail all over the ground. Alot of campsites got flooded and trees were blown over etc.
The next 2 days were beautiful though except for the B52 size mosquitos and flies...
The park is nice with a big nice lake in the middle called Clear Lake and it is surrounded by a little tourist trap type town of shops and ice cream shops. We did some biking, tried to fish, and Betty and Alan took a ride to the north to the town of Dauphin and saw a young bear enroute. They also saw 2 bison at the bison encampment in the park.
We departed on Friday morning for the 300 mile drive west to Regina, Saskatchewan!
