A VERY quick day in Oslo, although I think we saw most of the sites. We had a really warm day, probably the warmest of the trip! There were Norwegians sunbaking in every park or grassed area - they do not need a beach to do it! We went to the Akershus castle there, and the audio tour was really interesting, and the castle is still in use for events today, which is unusual but fantastic!
The viking museum was really interesting - there were 3 small ships from the 9th Century, which had been used as burial chambers for rich Norwegians of the time. They were laid in the ships with food and goods for the afterlife and then covered with dirt to create a burial mound.
