Back after our 10 days touring Mongolia for a bit of RandR.
We've done little the past 2 days except chill, sleep, celebrate T's birthday, and plan tour number 2 which we leave for tomorrow.
We had a lovely day for Tamsin's birthday yesterday, we celebrated with a late breakfast "chez Bernard" - no relation to the camel, but a small place which does lovely pastries... we christened Tamsin's birthday mongolian chess set (the board and pouch made from Felt, and the pieces made from bone... in bizarre shapes not at all similar to the rooks, pawns and such that we'd recognise).
We spent the evening after food overlooking a monastery (first bottle of wine for ages), in a pub watching a traditional performance of throat singing, and two-stringed cellos... interrupted only by their rendition of the Beatles "yesterday". a lovely lovely evening.
off tomorrow to another national park for some camping, fishing and walking...
take care y'all
