So Drakensberg are a mountain range/region in South Africa about 1/2 way from Johannesberg to Durban. Instead of doing the 7 hour drive in one day, we decided to stay one night and do some sight-seeing
I got very sunburnt in the car on the way :(
We stopped at the best truck stop ever, equipped with trampolines and a little animal farm including an ostrich!
We stopped at Little Switzerland on the way, which is a resort Hugh used to own for about 6months, 34 years ago. It had a gym, mini golf, bowls, zebra, volleyball, jumping castle and excellent views of the Drakensberg, including the Ampitheatre
We arrived at Berg House & Cottages around 1:30pm and began the 3-4km rugged drive in. The cottage we stayed in had rock walls, a bar, excellent views, concrete floor. Very rugged! The beds and furniture were very comfortable though. We took up one of the tours the staff run and Kristy Amber and I went donutting on the river with our guide Vaugn and his daughter, Chanel and her friend Kiara. It was sooooooooo much fun!! Not for the faint hearted though. You go through some pretty big rapids!
After that we watched a big storm roll in and just chilled in the cottage
