Soooooooo the Wallabies lost to England in the world cup hey? One might ask themselves how we would know this information all the way overe here in Chile, but isn┤t it obvious? We watched it on the big screen in Santiago┤s only ═rish pub, Flannery┤s. It was like stepping into another world; Carlsberg beer at 9am, Irish decor and about 50 or so English and Aussie fans, and John and I were still the only people who couldn┤t speak Spanish!!!

Yesterday we went on a tour to the mountains to a few ski resorts El Colorado, Farellones & Valle Nevado and I saw snow for the first time. And I must say, it was the coldest I have ever been in my entire life, and it┤s spring!! It snowed on us while we were there which was awesome. There are some photo┤s attached, but they cannot do the scenenry the justice it deserves. It was simply awesome!! We didn┤t ski as there was limited time/snow, so John has promised we will do it in the Alps, where he assures me it will be even colder!!

Lat night was our last night at the first hostel (picture attached) and we stayed in for a bbq with the other guests and the crew who run the show. It was a great night. We ate chilean food and drank Pisco (which is worse than Grappa) and met some really cool new people. A couple from the States and a couple of Kiwi┤s. All in all it was a great day!! We still cannot sleep the whole night through though, we are waking up at 5 am every morning and then needing a siesta in the afternoon. Not a bad life really...

Today, after the Rugby we walked to our new Hostel with our backpacks. Now John has assured me that it was approx 3 kilometers, but it felt like 300. It is a hot day today and our packs are very heavy. New hostel is very nice, the lady who runs it speaks fluent english so that is making for quite a nice change. It is right in the heart of Bellavista, which is like a nightlife/cafe/discotecque area. Tonight will be interesting.

We have attached a picture of one of the many many stray dogs there are around Santiago. I am trying not to feel sad everytime I see one, because the other morning we saw a nice lady stop and pull some dogfood out of her bag on the way to work and feed one, so that made me happy. They are gorgeous dogs too, like pure breeds and puppies that would go for hundreds back home. Sort of like Riley and Billy...

We have come to the conclusion that every single person in Santiago smokes, and not only do they smoke, they do it inside. Everywhere. All the time. Like at dinner, restraunts, bars, pubs, cafe┤s. You forget how nice it is that you can┤t do that anymore at home.

love you all, hope you aren┤t missing us too much :) xxxxx

adios
