We left Bali September 26th and sailed to Gili Air. This was such a great little island that I wanted to show the three crew the atmosphere there.

The weather was not as kind with the skies being a little overcast and the anchorage was windy and a lee shore. We took up a mooring which I checked so I felt much better to be able to leave the boat and show the kids around.

We spent a relaxing couple of days here but unfortunately Loz came down with a stomach bug so we felt that it was prudent to try and get her to a good doctor. We decided to head across to Lombok island to an anchorage called Teluk Kombal. This was on the nth west side of Lombok (08.24.30S, 116.04.52E).

Here we found a health centre, thanks to Heidi's intrepretative skills. Loz was given some tablets to take and was feeling much better in herself having seen someone. We stayed for a day and a night before on to Kangean.

We had a great sail to Kangean and had found out on the way that our good friends Bob and Bec off Stardust were having trouble with their engine which required stainless steel weilding, an art not widely available in Indonesia. Heidi tried to find someone to help but unfortunately to no avail. What we did do is tow Stardust further in behind the outer reef which was far safer than where they were anchored when forced to stop outside with no motor. Liam and Annie had heard of the problems and had agreed to take Bob back with the part that needed welding to Bali to have it repaired. Our services no longer being required, we moved on, leaving Bec in charge of Stardust safely anchored well inside the reef for her to watch videos and catch up on some reading.

From Kangean we sailed on Oct 6 to the island of Bawean.
