Where I stayed
This past weekend I felt like getting out of Shanghai, so I went to the city of Ningbo in Zhejiang province. Ningbo is about 3 hours away by train, and is located near the coast. It is a pretty city with lots of parks and gardens, and it is surrounded by numerous Buddhist temples. I chose Ningbo because it is about halfway between Wenzhou and Shanghai, and I met a friend from Wenzhou there. I really wanted to get out of the concrete jungle, so the one full day we had there we visited Tian Tong Temple, which is one of the oldest, and most important Buddhist temples in China. It is almost 1000 years old, and is situated at the base of some small mountains with a very tranquil bamboo forest. It was a pretty nice day away from the hustle and bustle of the big city.
A couple weeks earlier my friend Natalie came to visit in Shanghai and we went to the Moganshan art district near Suzhou creek. It is this really cool street completely covered in graffiti art, and the street is full of various boutiques with all sorts of very interesting artwork. Enjoy some pictures.
