Last Wednesday we went to see some ATP Tennis action at the Shanghai Masters event. It was a pretty good time. We bought some tickets from a semi-official ticket salesman and got some center court seats for about 30 bucks. We were happy to see Milos Raonic representing Canada, although he lost his match to world number 5 David Ferrer of Spain. Ferrer ended up losing the final yesterday to #3 Andy Murray of England. We also saw some top ten players play on center court including #8 Jo-Wilfried Tsonga of France, and #2 Rafa Nadal of Spain. Nadal won, and Tsonga lost. One of our co-workers, Ash is a former semi-professional tennis player and he managed to get some court side seats for part of the Nadal match. Wes managed to weasel hi way in with him so they got some pretty good views of Mr. Nadal. We did our part by heckling Wes from the upper bowl between points. The complex itself is really nice: center court has an interesting retractable roof on it, and the grounds were pretty immaculate. Other sporting events coming up include a PGA event in November, and tomorrow is our schools Sports Day at a nearby stadium. Will get some photos from that tomorrow. For now, here are some pictures from tennis.
