Just next to the border with Guatemala we went to our first set of Mayan ruins, in Copan, Honduras. This place was pretty cool because of the nice scenery around the ruins, and there was a fair amount of wildlife right within the complex. The town itself was very quaint as well with many good restaurants, some horseback riding, and of course the ruins themselves. All the streets here were cobbled which was pretty cool also....and as it turns out, is quite common throughout Guatemala. My first horseback riding experience was pretty cool also...and a little scary. We went up a little mountain across the river from town on some little gravel trail. It was quite narrow, and on the way down I couldn't get my horse to slow down so I was going downhill at an alarming rate. I made it though. Enjoy some pictures.
