On Saturday our school had it's graduation ceremony in a conference room at the city hall. All the students were of course all dressed up, and I couldn't believe how different they all look when they aren't wearing their school uniform! Last year at Mudu we didn't have school uniforms, so it was a little different this time. Also, we only had 6 grads last year, this time we had 41, so it felt more like an actually graduation. In addition to the diplomas being handed out, we also had the school awards for all grades, and some scholarships handed out. It was nice to see some of the hard working students get rewarded for their efforts. After the grad ceremony, we went to a dinner in a banquet hall at the Howard Johnson hotel near the school. As suspected, the meal was full of strange Chinese food, so in between we snuck off to Mcdonalds to eat some real food, haha. At the dinner there was also some singing, bands playing and some fun and games....and free wine. Another thing that is strange to me is when all of the grads come to all the teacher tables and toast us. There is no legal drinking age in China, so all the grads are drinking beer and wine, haha, hard to get used to! Anyways, here are some pictures from the evening.
