Nic-

A long day on the road. We packed up at Lake Argyle quickly and were on the road about 8.30am. It did not take long to reach NT.

We stopped at Timber Creek for some morning tea and fuel when we noticed the clocks had changed and suddenly we were 1.5 hrs ahead of where we had been this morning. On the road again and driving through the Gregory NP. I went a bit crazy with the camera again as the rock formations were beautiful, bit similar to those in the Kimberley. The Victoria River was beautiful and I would have liked to stop but we still had a long way to go.

I started to get confused mid afternoon because our bodies said it was lunchtime but the clock said we should be looking for somewhere to stay. We decided to grab saladas to eat in the car as a late (for NT) lunch and continue a bit further, eventually pulling into Manbulloo Homestead Caravan Park just south of Katherine. Like a few other stations in the north, Manbulloo is a working cattle station that has diversified to provide caravan and motel facilities as well. I guess the downturn in the live cattle export has made this necessary. The kids and I walked down to the Katherine River for a look, but all they were thinking was 'swim'. They kept trying to tell me it was clear and crocs do not like it clear. They were, however, happy to find us camped next two very friendly, greedy horses.

Jarrod crashed after tea, 8pm local time, 6.30 by our body clock, but he had driven over 500km. One way to get your body clock in order. The kids and I played a game of cards before I sent them to bed despite their protests of not being tired. It is just like dealing with daylight savings.

We plan to head toward Litchfield NP tomorrow and catch Nitmiluk (Katherine Gorge) NP on our return from Darwin via Kakadu.

Enjoying the stunning scenery. Angus, sorry we missed each other's birthdays but I was very happy to receive the tailored 'T4GoneWest' NW Australia birthday present!
