Our first day in San Francisco has been great.... we were very tired and I felt sick after the flight so we decided to have a sleep for a couple of hours..
. and then we went for a walk to Fishermans Wharf and saw the seals and got a glimpse of the Golden Gate Bridge. Fishermans Wharf is very touristy, and we almost felt like we were in a theme park that had an American theme, rather than actually in America!! Looking forward to clam chowder :-) Investigating going on a bike tour over the Golden Gate Bridge to Sausalito and to a baseball game. Tonight we had tea at the Hard Rock Cafe which was really nice. Hotel is good and seems to be in a good spot. Off to sleep now :-)
Photos of today:
Our adventure across the United States started in style, when Alana (Employee of the Year, Qantas.... well, in my opinion....) upgraded our seats from row 65 (middle of plane at the back, ewwww) to Premium Economy.... we lived the dream of an airline upgrade!! Our seat was massive in comparison to the usual economy seats.... and we had enough leg room that I could get out of my seat without Tom getting up too. We had a decent footrest, a blanket that was nearly like a quilt, and extra recline..... (9 inches...) We also had a big screen that was attached to our seat, not to the chair in front of us. Pity was that the entertainment system wasnt working properly but Tom still watched a few movies and I watched Sex and the CIty 2 (again :-) ) We went for a walk and visited row 65..... didnt like it..... only problem with an upgrade is we can never go back to the back of the plane!!!!
