Subway, subway, bus, Pearson airport; long lines. Booked a hostel in Kathmandu right before boarding.

Air Canada 872 Toronto Oct 16 17:30 to Frankfurt Oct 17 07:00

We slept intermittently across the chairs in the airport and said 'danke' a few times.

Lufthansa 756 Frankfurt Oct 17 13:25 to Mumbai Oct 18 01:00

Shuttle bus from international to domestic terminal.  Cheap, spicy veggie samosas, served with ketchup, of course.  The sweet lassi was also sweet.

From the airplane window, the shanty slums were only a stone's throw from the runway.  High fences topped with razor wire trim prevented any mingling.

Indigo 184 Mumbai Oct 18 6:20 to Delhi Oct 18 08:00

Shuttle from the domestic to international terminal. Made a few random stops on the way.  Delhi police officer got on with a pink plastic bag in one hand and a machine gun in the other.  Wolfed down some more fast Indian food.  Passport visas stamped to exit India the same day we'd entered the country.

Indigo 31 Delhi Oct 18 10:55 to Kathmandu Oct 18 12:30

Taxi from airport to hostel.

We had left our condo just before 2:00 pm on Tuesday, October 16th and arrived at our hostel in Kathmandu at about 2:30 pm on Thursday, October 18th.  We flew for 19.5 hours, had 14 hours of stopovers and crossed 9.75 time zones.  Nepal is a mere 15 minutes ahead of India.  Needless to say, our minds had no idea what day it was and we were exhausted.  We both agreed it was the toughest bit of travel yet.
