The Pura Vida hotel is lovely to look at, quaint little rooms with a view of the volcano if its not cloudy (as it is right now).

But if you actually want to sleep in the Pura Vida hotel you will find it almost impossible. The trucks roll by at all hours of the night and there is a disco somewhere in the area that pumps out beats at high volume. We barely slept. Both woke up with giant bags and dark circles under our eyes. I first woke up to the sunlight and deafening rumble of a truck at 4:30 am then slept on and off sort of till 7:30.

The day got progressively better from there. A delightful and cheap breakfast of rice, beans, sausage (Sang had bacon and eggs too) and coffee premixed with milk all for the low price of $4 for both of us. I love eating in Costa Rica.

Next we went and booked a volcano watching tour at a hostel offering tours called Gringo Pete's, only to discover from a couple from the U.S. later that the volcano has been dormant for the past month. Oh well. The hostel was offering tours at some of the cheapest rates in La Fortuna we could find.

The zip line tour was incredible. Sang looked great with all the gear on:

And I looked spectacular too:

Sang and I both did the superman zip too, where a tour guide holds up your legs behind you as you spread your arms out and go head first down the zip line. I was scared at first, didnt want to let go of the wire but then I did and it was great. The view down was at least 300 ft in places. Luckily the first zip line was short so we got aclimatized to the feeling of whooshing through the trees suspended in the air by a small cable.

We learned after that we could do a hike to a cooler volcana lookout place but decided since wed already paid US$17 each for our evening tour wed hold off.

Decided to take the shuttle to Torteguero instead of 4 buses plus the boat taxi.

Lunch time now. Well probably hit another cheap Soda place and get more authentic and cheap food. Then we must prepare for our volcano hike and get everything in place for our escpate to the land of the leather back turtles.

I am sure you would rather be toboganning in the snow than zipping through the trees, wouldn't you!?

Hahaha Mom, not likely. I'm way happier sitting on the dock at our casa. Oh glorious sunshine...
