Today was my last day with the kindergarten 2 group. My lesson was the idea of their teacher, Bridgett, who had noticed that the kids are fighting a lot and not using manners or respect. So, we dedicated the entire week to friendship and manners. I made a tree diagram for the students that represented 'our kindergarten family.' We talked about what it means to be a good friend, how to be respectful, and how to use good manners. The kids even acted some parts of the lesson out to better understand the words. I cut out a ton of little hearts that the kids could 'earn' if they showed good manners or acted as good friends during the day. We taped the little hearts to their shirts and they loved it! We had a polite bunch of little tykes all day! The kids colored and cut out dolls with their names on them and we wrote on the shirt how they would be a good friend during the year. Then we taped them up on the tree for everyone to see. Overall, a very nice and fun lesson :)
Not much otherwise today. It is getting too cold outside for day trips and the sun sets so early that there really isn't much to see by the time I get out of school.
