If there was anything to say about this trip, is that it was busy and somewhat hectic when it came to taking the modes of different transport over the 4 days - from buses to planes to mini-buses to taxis to bicylces to rafts to trains!

But one thing for sure was that it was quite a fun trip of countryside China. Probably the toughest part of the trip was riding through the mud-covered tracks of the padi fields. And the funniest when Winsy fell into the mud - sorry Winz, you have to admit it was quite funny...hehe

As usual when I'm with Winz, we just ate and ate and ate - something we find we end up doing whenever we meet/get-together! Guilin rice noodles are a must when in this area!

The only hitch to our trip was when we returned to Shenzhen airport and were nearly tricked by some local people who provided private taxi transportation. To cut a long story short, we had flown back to Shenzhen late in the evening with the plan to stay the night at a Spa before making our way back to Hong Kong by train the next day. Not knowing Shenzhen too well, we thought it would be ok to take a private taxi transfer to the Spa only to be quoted sky-high prices for the drive when we got in the car.

I know, it was stupid for the 2 of us girls to get in the car in the first place so late at night. Despite both being aware of the possibility of being tricked, we were too tired to find alternative transport. But upon getting in the car, somehow we awoke from our tired state and insisted on knowing the price before the driver started the car. When we heard the price, we both just blew up in anger at the driver and his female companion and demanded him to stop the car. Winz actually got out of the car while it was still in motion while I just continued my angry streak in English before getting out to join her. Trust me, we were 2 girls you wouldn't want to have dealt with that night! But yes, we have learnt our lesson in not being cautious enough...

In any event, the incident didn't dampen our trip. We managed to get to the Spa to get half a day of winding-down, most of which was having one shower after another. We ended up having like 3 showers within a 10 hour period! Probably we have never been that overly-clean in our lives..lol
